Pass 3: Oak Glen to Angelus Oaks

The road up to Angelus Oaks is long, steep, and seems to go on forever. Once you make the turn where there is a turnoff to Forest Falls, you quickly arrive in cool Mountain air and forest scenery!! The first photo is of the tandem team of Dan Gorman and Doris Bingo as they were climbing up to Angelus Oaks. The other 8 photos were taken by Veloce Santiago Teammate Randy Grisham at the Third Rest Stop in Angelus Oaks. Don't worry: only small thumbnail photos are first displayed so it doesn't take long. A HUGE THANKS to Wendy Reynolds ... it's not easy driving a loaded van up on these curvey roads!! Wendy was in charge of Rest Stop 1 and 3 and we really appreciate her help!! We'd like to really thank Jim Carter who helped us at Rest Stop 1 and 3 ... and drove his SUV as a SAG vehicle on the road. Jim is 71 Years Young ... but you wouldn't know it: Jim road all 4 Passes to the top at Onyx Summit in 1999 and did 3 Passes in 2000. Then he came out and really gave us a big hand this year. Thanks, Jim: You're an inspiration to all of us youngsters!! |
